Amman, Oct. 13 (Petra) – The University of Jordan Hospital on Monday launched activities marking World Sterilization Week, observed annually on October 9, bringing together medical, nursing, technical, and administrative staff.
Held under the theme “Improving Indicators to Raise Sterilization Performance Efficiency,” the week aims to raise healthcare workers’ awareness of sterilization and its key role in patient safety, as well as to promote the effective application of quality indicators in this field.
The four-day event features lectures and workshops organized in cooperation with supporting companies to review best global practices and performance measurement methods in sterilization.
In a statement, Hospital Director General Dr. Nader Bsoul highlighted the vital role of sterilization in ensuring patient safety and improving the quality of medical services, stressing the need to enhance the efficiency of sterilization units and develop staff skills in this field.
He noted that the hospital administration gives special attention to sterilization as part of its efforts to raise the level of health services and promote a safe environment for patients and staff.
He also underscored the importance of coordination between the Sterilization Division and the Infection Control Office to ensure adherence to the highest standards of quality and safety.
