New York, July 7 (Petra) – The United Nations has condemned attacks targeting Palestinians as they attempt to access food in Gaza, according to UN spokesperson Stéphane Dujarric.
Dujarric said that UN partners have observed a rising number of injuries among people trying to obtain aid. He cited a World Food Programme report stating that nearly one in three people in Gaza has gone without food for days, putting many at imminent risk of famine.
UN agencies described the humanitarian situation in Gaza as “the worst ever,” with people dying simply in the act of trying to secure food.
