Amman, Aug 23 (Petra) – The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) said that famine in Gaza could be averted through the immediate delivery of large-scale humanitarian assistance.
In a post on its X platform on Saturday, the agency said, “Stopping the ongoing catastrophe requires the transfer of massive amounts of aid to Gaza through the United Nations, including UNRWA.”
It added that its warehouses in Jordan and Egypt are stocked with sufficient food, medicine, and health supplies to load 6,000 trucks, stressing the urgent need for Israeli authorities to allow the immediate entry of this aid into Gaza.
