Amman, May 25 (Petra)– As Jordan celebrates the 79th anniversary of its independence, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio congratulates the Kingdom.
He highlighted the strength of the two nations’ alliance and Jordan’s crucial role in maintaining regional peace in a statement released by the US State Department.
“On the occasion of Jordan’s 79th anniversary of independence, I offer His Majesty King Abdullah II the Jordanian people and my sincere congratulations and best wishes on behalf of the United States of America,” he added.
He underlined that a common vision for a Middle East of peace, prosperity, and security is the foundation of the United States and Jordan’s longstanding friendship and strategic cooperation. He conveyed his gratitude for Jordan’s contribution to regional stability and peace.
He concluded, “As you celebrate Jordan’s National Day, the United States wishes the Jordanian people continued prosperity under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II.” According to him, his nation is eager to deepen the solid alliance that has existed for more than 70 years.
