New York, Sept 3 (Petra) – The Nasdaq, heavily weighted toward technology stocks, rose 218 points on Wednesday to reach 21,497 points, marking a 1.02 percent gain.
Meanwhile, the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 24 points to 45,271, while the S&P 500 index climbed about 32 points to 6,448.
In energy markets, U.S. crude oil (West Texas Intermediate) dropped more than $1.50, closing at $63.94 per barrel.
