The S&P 500 lost 114.79 points, or 1.74 percent, to close at 6477.16. Meanwhile the Dow Jones Industrial Index was down 1.01 percent to close at 45960.11 points. The tech-heavy Nasdaq was down the most, losing 2.38 percent of its value and closing at 21408.1 points. (QNA)
