Amman, July 7 (Petra) – The White House said Monday that U.S. President Donald Trump’s “top priority” is to end the war in Gaza and secure the release of hostages, noting that Trump will discuss a proposed ceasefire with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
White House Press Secretary Caroline Leavitt told reporters ahead of Trump’s meeting with Netanyahu that the president’s special envoy, Steve Witkoff, will travel to Qatar later this week. Qatar is currently hosting indirect talks between Israel and Hamas.
