Amman, Sept. 11 (Petra)– A delegation from the World Health Organization (WHO) on Thursday visited the Jordanian Field Hospital South Gaza/7, where they were received by the hospital’s commander and director.

The delegation was briefed on the hospital’s operations, available medical specialties, and the nature of its medical and therapeutic services, which reflect Jordan’s commitment to supporting Gaza residents and addressing their needs.

The WHO team commended Jordan’s medical and relief efforts in the enclave, highlighting the “Restoring Hope” initiative at the hospital’s prosthetics support unit, the only one of its kind in southern Gaza, as well as its capacity to handle critical emergencies requiring immediate surgical intervention and specialized operations unavailable at other hospitals in the Strip.

The delegation underlined readiness for continued cooperation with the Jordanian field hospital to alleviate patient suffering and enhance the quality of healthcare services in Gaza.

The visit aimed to explore avenues of cooperation to support the health system and ensure the provision of medical services to citizens, in line with the hospital’s commitment to coordinate with all institutions and organizations in Gaza to facilitate its humanitarian mission.
