Geneva, April 01 (QNA) – The World Health Organization (WHO) announced the safe transfer of nearly 106 metric tons of emergency nutrition supplies from Cyprus to Gaza.
The shipment is being prepared for distribution to support the organization’s ongoing emergency response.
The delivery is part of the Humanitarian Bridge initiative, approved under UN Security Council Resolution 2720, designed to ensure timely, scalable sea transport of essential health supplies to crisis-affected populations.
The initiative strengthens pre-positioning, rapid dispatch, and operational readiness across the Eastern Mediterranean, with Cyprus serving as a strategic logistics hub due to its proximity, approximately 370 km from Gaza, and EU market access. (QNA)
