Muscat, March 24 (QNA) – A woman died today due to flash floods in the Sultanate of Oman.
The Search and Rescue Department of the Omani National Emergency Management Committee reported that a woman was swept away in the Wilayat of Khasab (Musandam Governorate) due to flash floods.
The department added in a statement that she was found deceased by search and rescue teams.
Three days ago, four people died due to severe weather conditions.
The National Multi-Hazard Early Warning Center warned of continued chances of heavy thunderstorms Wednesday morning, accompanied by hail and strong downdrafts due to the cloud cover associated with the weather system.
It urged caution during thunderstorms, advising against crossing wadis, avoiding low-lying areas, and refraining from going to sea during the warning period. (QNA)
