Workshop Examines Legal Framework Governing Civil Society Operations

Amman, July 15 (Petra) — The Justice Center for Legal Aid (JCLA), in collaboration with the Rasheed Foundation for Integrity and Transparency (Transparency International Jordan) and with support from the European Union, on Tuesday launched a training workshop titled “Legislation Regulating Civil Society Work.”

The two-day workshop, organized under the “Empowered and Connected” project, convenes representatives of civil society organizations, including associations and non-profit entities, to deepen their understanding of the regulatory environment governing the operations of civil society institutions in the Kingdom.

Sessions address key legal topics, including the laws overseeing associations and non-profit companies, regulations on foreign funding, labor legislation, and principles of governance. The initiative seeks to equip civil society organizations and activists with the knowledge and tools necessary to exercise their legal rights and advocate effectively for preserving civic space, adopting a rights-based approach.
