Minister of Youth and Sports Professor Ahmed Adam, accompanied by members of the Federal Sports Caravan, on Saturday attended the Tree Day celebration organized by the Ministry of Agriculture and Irrigation in front of the headquarters of the 4th Infantry Division in Al-Damazin. The event was attended by Blue Nile Region Governor Ahmed Al-Omda Badi and 4th Infantry Division Commander Major General Ismail Al-Tayeb Abbas, and coincided with celebrations marking the 72nd anniversary of Sudanese Armed Forces Day. Professor Ahmed Adam stressed the importance of youth participation in tree-planting and environmental protection programs, describing young people as the largest force capable of leading community initiatives. He said the ministry would encourage youth to participate in planting and caring for trees and would link environmental activities with youth, sports and sustainable development programs. He said the participation of the Federal Sports Caravan in the Tree Day celebration in Al-Damazin underscored that the role of youth extends beyond sports to encompass community affairs, environmental protection and reconstruction. He called on young people to take the initiative and contribute to expanding vegetation cover and preserving natural resources. The minister stressed that investing in youth is an investment in Sudan’s future, adding that their participation in tree planting represents a practical commitment to building a better environment and a more sustainable future.BH/BH
