Zadna, Agricultural Bank of Sudan Discuss Strategic Partnership

Khartoum, July 2, 2026 (SUNA) — Zadna International Investment Company and the Agricultural Bank of Sudan on Thursday discussed ways to strengthen cooperation and establish a strategic partnership aimed at developing the agricultural sector, reducing production costs, and supporting efforts to achieve food security. The discussions took place during a meeting at Zadna’s headquarters in Khartoum between the company’s Managing Director, Ali Khalifa Askouri, and a delegation from the Agricultural Bank of Sudan led by its General Manager, Salah Mohamed Abdel Rahim, accompanied by Assistant General Manager for Administrative Affairs Siddig Awad Mohamed. The meeting was also attended by Magdi Amin, Director of the Green Revolution Company. Askouri highlighted the strong relationship between the two institutions, noting that differences in their respective activities do not preclude closer cooperation in support of Sudan’s agricultural sector. He also expressed Zadna’s readiness to enter into strategic partnerships with the Agricultural Bank of Sudan to support the government’s agricultural development agenda and strengthen food security. For his part, Agricultural Bank General Manager Salah Mohamed Abdel Rahim said both institutions share the common objective of serving the agricultural sector. He noted that reducing production costs remains a strategic priority to enhance the competitiveness of Sudanese agricultural products and crops in international markets. He added that achieving this objective requires increasing agricultural output, improving seed varieties through the development of new cultivars, expanding the use of modern agricultural technologies, and increasing storage capacity to reduce post-harvest losses. He said these measures would help build a sustainable strategic grain reserve while promoting grain exports and strengthening their contribution to the national economy. At the conclusion of the meeting, the two sides agreed to establish joint committees to coordinate and follow up on cooperation, and to develop mechanisms for collaboration in areas that support the agricultural sector, assist farmers, and advance the country’s agricultural development objectives.BH/BH
