Amman, Aug. 23 (Petra) — Zain Jordan, in cooperation with global
iris-recognition technology company IrisGuard, has launched the
EyeKYC service to verify subscribers’ identities using iris
recognition technology.
In a statement issued Sunday, Zain indicated that EyeKYC verifies a
subscriber’s identity by scanning the iris using an approved
biometric device. The scan is matched against national identity
records held by the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship
through the EyeCloud system.
Once verification is completed, the subscriber’s previously
registered information is retrieved automatically and used to
complete authentication procedures and activate the requested service
without manual data entry.
The company explained that the service integrates Zain’s systems with
IrisGuard’s iris-recognition technology to accelerate subscriber data
verification at its stores while improving accuracy, reliability, and
security. The service also supports real-time identity verification
and integration with existing digital systems.
Zain stated that the launch of EyeKYC is part of its broader adoption
of digital technologies across its telecommunications services. It
pointed out that the service is part of its efforts to adopt digital
technologies aimed at streamlining subscription procedures,
activating services at its stores, and improving the customer
experience.
