Amman, August 4 (Petra) – Zain Jordan expanded its environmental
monitoring partnership with the Royal Scientific Society (RSS),
according to its statement on Tuesday.
In addition to maintaining its support for the Higher Council for
Science and Technology’s national water quality monitoring stations
since 2003, Zain is now providing telecommunications services for the
Ministry of Environment’s air quality stations for the first time.
By providing telecommunications for hourly air and water quality
tracking, Zain uses tech-driven innovation to support national
resource protection and sustainable resource management. This
accurate data enables authorities to make informed decisions while
supporting key UN Sustainable Development Goals: SDG 6 (Clean Water),
SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities), SDG 13 (Climate Action), and SDG 17
(Partnerships).
As part of this collaboration, Zain will supply the
telecommunications infrastructure needed to efficiently transmit data
from 12 air quality monitoring stations across Russeifa, Mafraq,
Baqaa, Jiza, Muwaqqar, Irbid, Sahab, Karak, Hasa, and Zarqa.
Equipped with automated systems, these stations collect, analyze, and
transmit hourly air quality readings in real time, significantly
strengthening national environmental monitoring and preserving air
quality across Jordan.
Zain and the RSS have partnered for 19 years to support the National
Remote Water Quality Monitoring Project. Zain provides data
transmission services and Real Static IP connectivity for 13
monitoring stations across Jordan’s primary surface water sources,
including the Yarmouk, Jordan, and Zarqa rivers, the King Abdullah
Canal, the Kufranja Dam outlet, and the inlet and outlet of King
Talal Dam.
These automated stations conduct real-time physical and chemical
analyses and transmit data hourly, giving authorities the insights
needed to protect and manage the Kingdom’s water resources
sustainably.
Zain stated its commitment to leveraging advanced telecommunications

contributing to a smart monitoring ecosystem aligned with
technological progress, Zain continues to bolster national efforts to
preserve the environment and safeguard the Kingdom’s natural
resources.
