Beirut, Jan. 6 (Petra) – Amos Hochstein, Senior Advisor to U.S. President Joe Biden, announced Monday that the Israeli military will fully withdraw from Lebanon, emphasizing the commitment to the ceasefire agreement between Lebanon and Israel.
After meeting with Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri in Ain al-Tineh, Hochstein stated that detailed discussions were held with Berri regarding the ceasefire, adding, “Before my visit to Ain al-Tineh, I went to Naqoura and co-chaired a meeting of the committee responsible for monitoring the ceasefire.”
Hochstein noted that Israeli military withdrawals will continue until Israeli forces are completely outside Lebanese territory, emphasizing that the goal is for the Lebanese army to be the sole entity ensuring the security of southern Lebanon and maintaining the presence at the Blue Line.
