Amman, Jan. 26 (Petra) – The Ministry of Health signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the American Heart Association (AHA) to enhance the prevention and treatment of cardiovascular diseases.
The agreement focuses on areas such as advanced cardiovascular care, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), quality improvement programs, and hospital accreditation.
Health Minister Firas Hawari and AHA Senior Director for International Affairs Chris D’Esposito signed the MoU at the ministry. This collaboration aligns with the ministry’s efforts to improve public health by adopting cutting-edge medical practices and fostering knowledge exchange with international health organizations.
The MoU outlines several initiatives, including the development of joint health awareness campaigns for cardiovascular care and the implementation of CPR programs aimed at integrating effective resuscitation practices with emergency response systems. These measures are designed to save lives and enhance patient outcomes during critical situations.
Additionally, the agreement incorporates quality improvement initiatives, accreditation for hospitals, and adherence to evidence-based standards for stroke and cardiac arrest centers. The MoU emphasizes tailoring these programs to meet the needs of Jordan’s healthcare system while facilitating the exchange of scientific expertise between the Ministry of Health and the AHA.
