Defending Champion Alcaraz
Withdraws from Cincinnati Tennis Tournament

Washington, 5 Aug 2026 (ONA) — Tournament
organizers have confirmed that defending champion Carlos Alcaraz has withdrawn
from the upcoming Cincinnati Open due to a persistent wrist injury.

The 23-year-old Spaniard had been
scheduled to return to competitive action at the ATP Masters 1000 event,
marking his first appearance since retiring from the Barcelona Open in April.
His absence from the tour has extended through the French Open, where he was
unable to defend his title, as well as Wimbledon, as he continued his
rehabilitation.

Alcaraz, currently ranked World
No. 2, claimed the Cincinnati crown last year following the withdrawal of World
No. 1 Jannik Sinner from the final.

The Cincinnati Open is set to
take place during 13-23 August.
