Transport Minister discuss bolstering partnership between RJ, AIG

Amman, Jan. 28 (Petra) Minister of Transport, Wissam Tahtamouni, held an expanded meeting on Tuesday with the CEO of Royal Jordanian (RJ) Airlines, Samer Majali, the CEO of the Airport International Group (AIG), Nicolas Deviller, and the local legal advisor for the Ministry of Transport, Thaer Al-Najdawi, alongside concerned stakeholders from all parties.

The meeting focused on developing a strategic action plan aimed at achieving sustainable economic growth by enhancing infrastructure and services at Jordanian airports.

Attendees emphasized the importance of improving the passenger experience by streamlining travel procedures, increasing operational efficiency, and expanding air transport through the opening of new routes and attracting international airlines.

Tahtamouni stressed the importance of collaboration among all parties to achieve sustainability and develop innovative solutions for future challenges. She highlighted the need to implement environmental sustainability standards and reduce operational costs to bolster the local economy.

She noted that RJ plays a pivotal role as a national carrier through the services it provides at Queen Alia International Airport, emphasizing the necessity of resolving all outstanding issues between the RJ and the airport investor to ensure mutual benefit and foster future cooperation.

The meeting saw an exchange of perspectives among the parties, with consensus on the importance of continued collaboration to enhance service quality for passengers and create innovative, long-term investment opportunities. This aims to strengthen Jordan’s position as a regional hub for air transport.
