Education Minister inspects number of schools in Irbid

Irbid, Jan. 28 (Petra) Minister of Education, Azmi Mahafzah, inspected on Tuesday a number of schools in the education directorates of Bani Obeid District and Irbid Qasaba.

The minister began his tour by joining students at Hamad Al-Farhan Secondary School for Boys, under the Bani Obeid Education Directorate, in the morning flag-raising ceremony.

In Bani Obeid District, the tour included visits to Al-Nuaima Comprehensive Secondary School for Girls, Katam Comprehensive Secondary School for Girls, Khalil Al-Salem Secondary School for Boys, and Omar Al-Lafi Comprehensive Secondary School for Boys.

In Irbid Qasaba, the minister visited Hawara Secondary School for Boys, Hawara Comprehensive Secondary School for Girls, Tiberias Comprehensive Secondary School for Girls, and Hassan Kamel Al-Sabah School, a heritage school housing a project commemorating the centennial of the Jordanian state and one of the oldest schools in Irbid.

During the tour, Mahafzah emphasized the ministry’s commitment to implementing educational regulations, particularly regarding school discipline and attendance. He highlighted the importance of schools engaging with the local community, activating student and parent councils, and strengthening ties between schools and local institutions to achieve the goals of the education mission.

He stressed the significance of implementing intervention plans to achieve their objectives and the “I Belong to My School” initiative, noting the importance of maintaining a dedicated record of its activities and events. The initiative provides a clean, beautiful, and attractive environment for students.

Mahafzah toured the facilities of the schools he visited, including classrooms, laboratories, workshops, and courtyards, listening to observations and inquiries from administrative and teaching staff as well as students.

He affirmed the ministry’s efforts to meet the schools’ needs according to available priorities and resources, urging school administrations and teachers to exert every effort to serve students.

The minister also reviewed the progress of the vocational education program (BTEC) in vocational schools, examining the equipment provided by the ministry to ensure the program’s success.

The minister was accompanied during his tour by the directors of the Buildings and Projects Department, Issam Abu Ahamdeh, and the Supplies and Procurement Department, Mohammad Al-Manaseer, to assess the educational situation, discuss its needs, and explore ways to address challenges facing its operations.
