PSD honors 23 inmates for passing Tawjihi exams

Amman, Feb. 1 (Petra) – Public Security Department (PSD) Director Maj. Gen. Obaidallah Maaytah has directed that 23 inmates be honored for successfully passing the 2024 supplementary session of Jordan’s General Secondary Education Certificate Examination (Tawjihi).

Maaytah reaffirmed the PSD’s commitment to its rehabilitative philosophy, which includes programs designed to improve inmates’ quality of life, correct behavior, and equip them with the skills needed to reintegrate into society as productive individuals.

He also instructed officials to assist the successful inmates in pursuing higher education and vocational training, ensuring they have a stable future after completing their sentences away from crime and its potential causes.

Inmates took the Tawjihi exam in various academic streams, with the highest recorded score being 81.25% in the scientific stream.

The Rehabilitation and Correctional Centers Administration provides high school education and libraries in its facilities, working in collaboration with the Ministry of Education to create a conducive learning environment for inmates wishing to sit for the national exam.
