Health Minister opens new health center in Ajloun to enhance medical services

Ajloun, Feb. 1 (Petra) – Minister of Health Feras Hawari inaugurated the Ebbin and Ablin Primary Health Center in Ajloun (northern Jordan) on Saturday, reaffirming the government’s commitment to modernizing the healthcare sector and improving services in hospitals and health centers across the country.

Speaking at the opening, Hawari emphasized that the health ministry’s strategic plan focuses on expanding healthcare services both horizontally and vertically, strengthening Jordan’s position as a leader in medical services.

He noted that the ministry is working at an accelerated pace to replace rented health center buildings with permanent, ministry-owned facilities, ensuring service sustainability and an enhanced operational environment. The new center reflects the ministry’s dedication to meeting citizens’ healthcare needs in various governorates.

As part of the broader healthcare improvement plan for Ajloun, the ministry has also upgraded the Ras Munif Health Center from a subsidiary to a primary center.

Omar Momani, President of the Ajloun Governorate Council, said that the new Ebbin Primary Health Center was built at a cost of JD1 million as part of the council’s projects to enhance medical services in the area.

He reaffirmed the council’s commitment to supporting health facilities and revealed a JD70,000 allocation for the establishment of an X-ray room at the center.

Ajloun Health Director Akef Al-Sleihat highlighted that the center was constructed with support from the governorate council, while furnishings and equipment were provided by the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID).

Serving a population of approximately 22,000 residents in Ebbin and Ablin, the center offers general medicine clinics, dental care, maternity and child health services, laboratory testing, and a pharmacy.
