Amman, February 4 (Petra) – Her Highness Princess Ghida Talal, Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of the King Hussein Cancer Foundation and Center, launched an awareness campaign under the slogan “50 Percent is Your Decision” in observance of World Cancer Day, marked annually on February 4.

Princess Ghida underlined the Kingdom’s commitment to combating cancer, stating, “We will continue to challenge and fight cancer every day, every hour, and every moment of our lives until the day comes when we overcome cancer, God willing.”

The month-long campaign seeks to promote healthy lifestyle choices that significantly reduce cancer risk. It emphasizes the importance of quitting smoking, engaging in regular physical activity, prioritizing mental health, and maintaining a nutritious diet. Scientific studies indicate that adopting these habits can help prevent cancer by up to 50 percent.

As part of the initiative, an awareness event was held at the King Hussein Cancer Center, bringing together patients, their families, and medical staff to reinforce the campaign’s message.
