Education Minister, Georgian Ambassador Discuss Enhancing Educational Cooperation

Amman, February 5 (Petra) – Minister of Education Azmi Mahafzah met on Wednesday with the Georgian Ambassador to Jordan, Iraq, and Lebanon, Archil Dzuliashvili, to discuss bilateral cooperation and ways to enhance ties, particularly in the education sector.

Mahafzah highlighted the ministry’s development plans and initiatives aimed at advancing the educational process, stressing the significance of the strong partnership between the two countries and the importance of continued collaboration.

He also underscored the existing cooperation in higher education and called for increased coordination between Jordanian and Georgian universities to expand joint educational programs. He noted that approximately 51,000 foreign students are currently enrolled in Jordanian universities.

The discussions also covered the possibility of signing an executive program to facilitate cooperation in higher education, aimed at addressing challenges faced by Jordanian students in Georgia and Georgian students in Jordan.

Dzuliashvili commended the strong educational ties between the two countries and the achievements of Jordan’s educational institutions, recognizing their esteemed standing at the Arab, regional, and international levels. He reaffirmed Georgia’s commitment to further strengthening and expanding these relations.
