Madaba, Feb. 5 (Petra) -Mayor of Greater Madaba Municipality (GMM), Aref Rawajih, and Secretary of Saudi city of Al-Ahsa Municipality, Essam Bin Abdullatif Al-Mulla, on Wednesday signed a twinning agreement between the two cities.
According to a GMM statement, the agreement was signed on the sidelines of Rawajih’s participation in the UNESCO Creative Cities Network (UCCN) Forum currently held in Saudi Arabia.
The agreement aims to establish a framework for joint cooperation to exchange expertise and launch direct communication with the UCCN’s leadership.
The statement added that this effort seeks to discuss future cities and support the work carried out by UCCN’s member cities at the local and international levels to achieve the 2030 Sustainable Development Plan.
Under the agreement, the two municipalities enhance cooperation in knowledge transfer to support the two sides’ craftspeople and encourage those interested in Al-Ahsa to study mosaics art and restoration in Madaba, participate in the related courses, open new markets for crafts products and preserve heritage.
