Amman, Feb. 6 (Petra) — The Telecommunications Regulatory Commission (TRC) allocated 11,212 new frequency spectrum licenses through year-end 2024, while processing 17,731 license renewals and 4,752 frequency modifications, according to the commission’s annual sector indicators report.
The regulatory body’s spectrum management activities included the cancellation of 2,196 frequency authorizations.
Telecommunications licensing saw the issuance of 49 permits, distributed between 29 class licenses and 20 individual operator licenses.
RF monitoring operations encompassed 52 interference mitigation inspections across multiple frequency bands, alongside 25 scheduled and ad-hoc band scanning missions.
Technical assessments included 77 microwave link evaluations, resulting in 22 compliance violations.
The commission documented 16 cases of non-compliant radio equipment infractions and processed 33 equipment decommissioning orders.
FM broadcast interference resolution covered 21 cases of negative signal interaction.
The year’s regulatory framework updates introduced new protocols for bulk SMS services, equipment type approval procedures, revised EMF exposure guidelines, e-KYC telecommunications subscription verification standards, and technical specifications for radio repeater deployments in public mobile networks.
