Jordan pushes modernization drive to face challenges-Odat

Amman, Feb. 6 (Petra) – Jordan, under His Majesty King Abdullah II’s leadership, continues the path of comprehensive modernization and construction in various tracks and fields to confront challenges and crises with “resilience and resolve,” Minister of Political and Parliamentary Affairs, Abdul Moneim Odat, said.

In its efforts, he noted Jordan adheres to its “deep-rooted” principles and “clear” positions in defending its higher interests, and Muslim and Arab issues, foremost is the Palestinian cause, aimed to restore Palestinians’ rights to establish their independent state on their national soil.

The minister made the remarks during a meeting with youth of the “Parliamentary Fellowship” project, affiliated to the King Abdullah II Fund for Development, on Wednesday.

Odat referred to resilience of Jordan’s internal front and its capability to deal with regional and international challenges, aimed to preserve its interests and achieve stability in the region.

Echoing the King’s words, he underscored the youth’s “pivotal and important” in building the “new” Jordan on “solid and stable” foundations.

Odat noted a “key” axis of the Kingdom’s modernization process aims to enable youth to engage in making decisions to shape their “constructive” present and future.

Youth participation in the Kingdom’s political and partisan life would enhance their awareness of national priorities, express their demands and aspirations, primarily job opportunities that suit their skills.

With the “appropriate” legislative environment and the “firm” political will, he stated Jordan will “successfully” see parties that represent Jordan’s various political powers.
