
Ramtha, Feb. 16 (Petra) Mousa Shboul, Director of Social Development in Ramtha District, announced that 1,221 beneficiaries are enrolled in the National Aid Fund’s Protection Program, while 5,896 benefit from the Unified Cash Support Program.
During an awareness session on developmental and social services, organized by the Jordanian Women’s Union Association (JWU) – Ramtha Branch in cooperation with Alaq Cultural Forum, Shboul stated that the department provides services to 41 registered associations in the district.
He highlighted efforts to renovate and build homes for underprivileged families last year. Additionally, the department supports economic empowerment by offering low-interest loans to families and individuals to establish income-generating projects.
Barihan Khasawneh, Director of the National Aid Fund in Ramtha, elaborated on the financial assistance programs for low-income families, elderly individuals, orphans, patients, and those without providers. The fund also provides emergency aid in cases of natural disasters, deaths, and forced displacements after conducting necessary assessments.
She further noted that the fund offers immediate medical assistance, including covering medication costs and medical checkups, supports vocational training and physical rehabilitation, and helps install solar energy systems to alleviate financial burdens on beneficiary families.
Hamada Zoubi, Head of the JWU in Ramtha, emphasized that the session aligns with the union’s initiatives to raise awareness about available social development services in the region.
