
Tunis, Feb. 16 (Petra) – The Council of Arab Interior Ministers, during its 42nd session held in Tunis on Sunday, approved the 11th phase of the Arab Strategy to Combat the Illicit Use of Drugs and Psychotropic Substances. The session was attended by Minister of Interior, Mazen Faraya.
The council also adopted the 7th phase of the Arab Strategy for Civil Protection (Civil Defense) and the 2nd phase of the Arab Strategy to Combat Cybercrime.
Additionally, the council endorsed the report on the activities of the General Secretariat between the 41st and 42nd sessions, as well as the report on the activities of Naif Arab University for Security Sciences during the same period.
The council decided to appoint Mohammad bin Ali Koman as Secretary-General for a new term and Tariq Majali as Assistant Secretary-General of the council.
Furthermore, the council approved a memorandum of understanding between the General Secretariat of the council and the International Institute for Justice and the Rule of Law, authorizing the Secretary-General to sign it.
