Amman, Feb 19 (Petra) – Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Major General Yousef Huneiti, received a delegation of U.S. Congress members on Wednesday evening, led by Representative Darrell Issa. The delegation included Representatives Chuck Edwards, Jim Costa, and James Baird, all of whom serve on committees with strong ties to Jordan.
During the meeting, Huneiti and the delegation discussed the latest regional developments. He emphasized the importance of intensified efforts to ensure security and stability amid the exceptional challenges facing Jordan and the region.
The U.S. delegation praised Jordan’s key role in promoting regional peace and stability under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II. They reaffirmed their continued support for the strategic partnership between the United States and Jordan, particularly in defense and security cooperation.
