
Amman, May 7 (Petra) – Jordan Cooperative Corporation (JCC) discussed mechanisms for strengthening partnerships and cooperation in economic and community empowerment areas with international delegations from Islamic Development Bank (IsDB), Islamic Solidarity Fund for Development (ISFD), and the UN Women.
During a meeting held Tuesday evening, JCC Assistant Director General, Ghaleb Haddadin, noted importance of continuing contact with international bodies to enhance cooperation prospects and servie the Kingdom’s cooperative movement and community members.
Haddadin said the JCC is working to open permanent channels of communication with local, regional, and international support organizations to build partnerships that enable Jordan’s cooperatives to benefit from development programs and projects.
Attended by Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation, the discussions went over joint cooperation areas and possibility of implementing specific programs and initiatives for local communities, mainly within the framework of the ISFD-launched “”Harvesting opportunities for Poverty Eradication” Program” (Hope) Program.
The program aims to support the most underprivileged groups within “sustainable” development projects and focuses on economic empowerment and features 3 main axes for providing financing, capacity building, and assisting beneficiaries in accessing markets.
According to a JCC statement, the delegations were briefed on the corporation’s “strategic” goals and its role in supporting the Kingdom’s development process, as well as its services provided, in cooperation with donor agencies.
The statement said the meeting is part of the JCC’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its partnerships locally and internationally.
The effort aligns with National Strategy for the Jordanian Cooperative Movement for the years (2021–2025), aimed to advance the Kingdom’s cooperative sector and enhance economic and social empowerment for various groups.
