During its session held in Jerash governorate, the Cabinet decided to approve settlement of 1,014 pending cases between taxpayers and Income and Sales Tax Department.
The decision complements the Cabinet’s periodic measures to enable business owners, taxpayers, and investors to rectify their tax status, as part of the government’s ongoing efforts to enable continuity of their businesses and operations.
In a related development, Momani noted the Cabinet was briefed by Interior Minister Mazen Faraya on the second quarter of 2025 statistics for individuals, who obtained Jordanian citizenship by investment.
Momani said figures indicated that a total of 13 investors obtained Jordanian citizenship during the second quarter of this year.
Among these investors are five Syrians, five Iraqis, two Lebanese nationals, and one Pakistani, he announced.
Momani noted their total investment amounted to more than $23 million, while the number of Jordanian workers in these existing investments reached 642 Jordanian men and women.
Momani also noted 3 investors obtained residency during the second quarter of this year by purchasing real estate, and the total investment amounted to more than $1 million , adding that 2 of these investors are Palestinians and 1 is Canadian.
Overall, Momani revealed 561 investors obtained Jordanian citizenship as of July 10.
During a press conference, Momani said Jordan continues its diplomatic role in supporting Syria, based on a “firm” position based on respecting its sovereignty and territorial integrity.
The minister said Syria’s security and stability are a “strategic” interest for Jordan, adding that Jordan is working to expand cooperation with Syria in various fields.
Affirming Jordan’s “unwavering” position on Gaza, he stated the Kingdom’s priority aims to stop the brutal aggression on Gaza, deliver humanitarian aid, rescue civilians, and support steadfastness of Palestinian people on their land in facing worsening humanitarian disaster there.
