Amman, July 24 (Petra) -Service committees of Jordan’s Palestinian refugee camps commended His Majesty King Abdullah II’s position on breaking the siege on Gaza Strip and delivering aid.
In a statement Thursday, the committees said the move has “galvanized the global humanitarian conscience” to fulfill its responsibilities to protect civilians, mainly women and children, amid the incomparably worsening humanitarian disaster in Gaza Strip.
The committees also praised the Kingdom’s “unrelenting” political and diplomatic efforts under the King’s leadership to ensure the “successful” delivery of aid to Gaza.
The effort comes despite all the difficulties and risks facing dispatch of relief convoys, mainly delays in crossing inspections by the Israeli occupation forces and repeated attacks by Israeli settlers on trucks, the ststement pointed out.
Affirming Jordan’s “firm” position on Gaza and its rejection of displacement, the committees noted the Kingdom’s top priority now aims to deliver humanitarian aid, rescue civilians, and support steadfastness of Palestinian people on their land in facing the aggravating humanitarian catastrophe.
