Amman, July 29 — Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Lina Annab met on Tuesday with representatives and organizers of the global Marathon des Sables (Marathon of sand) to discuss preparations for hosting the upcoming edition of the international event, scheduled to take place in Wadi Rum this November.
The meeting was attended by Cyril Gauthier, CEO of Marathon des Sables, Javier Nunes, Brand Activation Director at Marathon des Sables, and Ayman Abdel Karim, Co-Founder and CEO of Experience Jordan Adventures, the local organizing partner.
Annab emphasized the importance of the marathon as a global sports and tourism platform that enhances Jordan’s position on the international events map and promotes sustainable tourism in the southern region of the Kingdom.
