Jeddah, 13-3-2026 (SUNA) – Prime Minister Dr. Kamil Idris reviewed the work of the Higher Committee for Hajj Service Packages for the year 1447 AH during a meeting with Minister of Religious Affairs and Endowments Bashir Haroun Abdelkarim in Jeddah. The minister stated that the committee achieved significant gains in housing, catering, and transportation contracts, noting reductions compared to last year’s prices in Mecca and Medina.Minister Bashir Haroun highlighted that the committee’s accomplishments will directly benefit pilgrims’ comfort and praised the scientific methodology applied by the technical committee, including the General Directorate for Procurement and Contracts at the Ministry of Finance, the General Auditor’s representative, and the General Intelligence and Security Service representative, noting that all work was completed transparently and with collective negotiation.He also pointed to successes in managing endowments in Saudi Arabia and the qualitative leap expected for Sudanese endowments through compensation for Jeddah properties and alternative purchases, reducing Hajj costs and fulfilling the endower’s conditions.The Prime Minister praised the efforts of the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Endowments in Hajj operations and directed further efforts to ensure the success of this year’s season, coordinating with the Ministry of Finance and the Central Bank of Sudan to complete remaining financial transfers while upholding transparency and accountability for outstanding tasks, ensuring exceptional services for Sudanese pilgrims.BH/BH
