Tourism Ministry welcomes UK travel advice update for Jordan

Amman, June 6 (Petra) – The Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities on
Saturday welcomed the United Kingdom’s update of a travel advice for
citizens heading to Jordan, and reclassifying most of the Kingdom’s
territory as a safe destination.

It reflects the level of security and stability of Jordan and
reinforces the Kingdom’s position as a safe and attractive
destination for visitors from various global markets, the ministry
said in a press release.

The statement added that the British Embassy in Amman welcomed the
return of British citizens to Jordan for tourism and investment,
urging those wishing to visit the Kingdom to follow updates on the
official British government website and take advantage of available
consular services and support.

The decision is a positive indicator that will enhance European
markets’ confidence in Jordan as a tourist destination and support
the tourism sector, given the readiness of various tourist sites and
facilities to welcome visitors as well as the Kingdom’s high level of
security and stability, the ministry stressed.
