Total Oil Exports of Oman Record
Growth of 1.9 Percent
Muscat, 6 Oct 2026 (ONA) — The
total oil exports of the Sultanate of Oman reached 209 million barrels by the
end of August 2026, recording growth of 1.9 percent compared with 205 million
barrels during the corresponding period of 2025.
The latest data issued by the National Centre for Statistics and
Information indicated that the Sultanate of Oman’s oil production reached 270
million barrels by the end of August 2026, up 11.9 percent compared with 241.4
million barrels during the corresponding period of 2025.
According to the data, the
average daily oil production rose by 10.9 percent by the end of August 2026,
reaching 1.1 million barrels per day, compared with 993,300 barrels per day
during the corresponding period of last year.
On a monthly basis, oil
production in August reached 36.3 million barrels, compared with 35.8 million
barrels in July and 34.4 million barrels in June. Oil exports during August
amounted to 27.1 million barrels, compared with 26.7 million barrels in July
and 25.7 million barrels in June.
The average price of Oman oil
rose by 15.5 percent during the period from January to the end of August,
reaching USD 83.3 per barrel, compared with USD 72.1 per barrel during the corresponding
period of 2025.
On a monthly basis, the average
price of Oman oil in August reached USD 79.1 per barrel, down 22.5 percent
compared with July, which recorded an average price of USD 102 per barrel.
In the natural gas sector, total
domestic production and imports rose by 6.4 percent by the end of August 2026
on an annual basis, reaching 40.5 billion cubic metres, compared with 38.1
billion cubic metres during the corresponding period of 2025.
Gas consumption at power
generation plants grew by 13.8 percent, reaching 11.7 billion cubic metres,
while consumption by industrial projects rose by 4.9 percent, reaching 19.9
billion cubic metres.
Gas consumption in oil fields
also rose by 1.5 percent, reaching 8.7 billion cubic metres, while gas
consumption in industrial zones declined by 32.6 percent, reaching 126.0
million cubic metres, compared with 186.9 million cubic metres by the end of
August 2025.
