GCC condemns Iranian attacks on Kuwait, Bahrain

Amman, June 6 (Petra) – The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) on
Saturday condemned the Iranian attacks targeting infrastructure and
civilian facilities in Kuwait and Bahrain, saying they reflect an
effort to destabilise the region and undermine peace and security.

In a statement, GCC Secretary-General Jasem Albudaiwi denounced the
attacks, describing them as a dangerous and irresponsible escalation,
a flagrant violation of international law and norms and a direct
threat to regional security and stability.

“These treacherous Iranian actions represent a dangerous and
irresponsible escalation and a direct threat to the security and
stability of the region,” Albudaiwi said.

He said that the security of Kuwait and Bahrain is an integral part
of the collective security of GCC member states, reaffirming the
Council’s full solidarity with both countries.

Albudaiwi underscored the GCC’s support for all measures taken by
Kuwait and Bahrain to safeguard their security, sovereignty and
territorial integrity.
