Beijing, June 08 (QNA) – China stressed that it is deeply alarmed by the situation in the Middle East, underlining that a renewal of the war wouldn’t serve anyone.
China hopes that the relevant parties will live up to their obligations under the ceasefire and maintain the momentum of the negotiations, spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Lin Jian said on Monday.
Jian further stressed that what matters most is upholding conflict resolution through political and diplomatic means and achieving a comprehensive and enduring ceasefire as soon as possible to create the essential conditions for restoring peace and achieving de-escalation in the Middle East and the Gulf region.
A ceasefire took hold between the United States and Iran on April 8, with the two nations having hitherto entered Pakistan-led negotiations to reach an agreement that would thoroughly end the war. (QNA)
