Amman, June 26 (Petra)– The Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, the
Jordan Tourism Board, and the First Baptist Church of Arlington,
Texas, hosted an event titled “Christian Faith in Jordan: The Land of
Revelation, Baptism and Pilgrimage” to highlight Jordan’s religious
and historical significance in the history of Christianity and
promote its sacred sites, which attract pilgrims and visitors from
around the world.

The event featured a photo exhibition showcasing Jordan’s most
prominent Christian pilgrimage sites, along with a specialized
lecture, a panel discussion, and presentations highlighting the
Kingdom’s experience in Christian pilgrimage tourism.

Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Imad Hijazin, speaking at the
event, which was attended by Chairperson of the Parliamentary Tourism
and Antiquities Committee MP Salem Al-Omari and Jordan’s Ambassador
to the United States Dina Kawar, said Jordan is one of the world’s
leading destinations for religious tourism and Christian pilgrimage.

He noted that the Kingdom is home to several sacred sites of profound
spiritual and historical significance, foremost among them the
Baptism Site (Bethany Beyond the Jordan), a UNESCO World Heritage
Site, in addition to Mount Nebo and other locations associated with
the Christian pilgrimage route.

Hijazin emphasized that, under the leadership of His Majesty King
Abdullah II, Jordan continues to strengthen its humanitarian message
as a global model of moderation, coexistence, and interfaith dialogue
through its ongoing efforts to protect and preserve Islamic and
Christian holy sites while reinforcing the Kingdom’s position as a
premier destination for religious tourism.
