Kabul, July 02 (QNA) – An earthquake measuring 5.5 on the Richter scale struck the Jurm District of eastern Afghanistan on Thursday.
The earthquake occurred at a depth of 216.7 kilometers, with no immediate reports of casualties or damage, the US Geological Survey said.
A 6.0 magnitude earthquake struck the Hindu Kush mountain region of northeastern Afghanistan last Saturday.
In August 2025, a 6.0 magnitude earthquake struck Kunar and Nangarhar provinces, killing approximately 2,205 people and injuring 3,640 others.
