Minister Receives Phone Call from US Counterpart

Muscat,
15 Sep 2026 (ONA) — Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, Foreign Minister,
received a phone call today from Marco Rubio, Secretary of State of the United
States of America.

During
the telephonic conversation, the two ministers discussed the latest regional
developments and the successive transformations unfolding in the region. They
exchanged views on efforts aimed at de-escalating tensions, containing their
repercussions, and creating the conditions to pursue diplomatic endeavours and
address outstanding issues in a manner that supports the security and stability
of the region.

The
call also addressed a set of regional files and issues of mutual interest. On
the front of Omani-American relations, the two ministers affirmed the
importance of building upon existing cooperation and developing mutual
interests, and of continuing consultation and coordination through the
communication channels between the two friendly countries, in support of
bilateral relations and the efforts exerted to entrench security and stability
at both the regional and global levels.
