Barcelona, July 07 (QNA) – The Union for the Mediterranean (UfM) has announced the launch of the first edition of the Euro-Mediterranean Women in Journalism Award in cooperation with the Euro-Mediterranean Network of Women Journalists and in partnership with the Anna Lindh Foundation (ALF), the European Institute of the Mediterranean (IEMed), and the International Federation of Journalists (IFJ).
The UfM said submissions will remain open until September 13. The award is open to female journalists who are nationals of UfM member countries and may compete by submitting individual works.
For group submissions, the team leader must be a journalist, and at least 50% of the team members must be women.
UfM Deputy Secretary General for Human Development Petra Kezman said the award aims to recognize solution-oriented journalism, encourage diverse voices and cross-border cooperation, and counter harmful stories. (QNA)
