Tokyo, July 07 (QNA) – Japan’s real wages rose 1.4% in May from a year earlier, extending gains to a fifth consecutive month and marking the longest streak of growth since a seven-month run in 2021, government data showed on Tuesday, reflecting the impact of robust annual wage negotiations.
Nominal wages, including base pay and overtime, increased 3.2% from a year earlier to 311,165 yen (about $1,900) per worker, exceeding 3% for a fourth straight month for the first time in more than 34 years, according to Japan’s Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare. (QNA)
