Amman, July 10 (Petra)– The Jordan Armed Forces–Arab Army (JAF)
announced that the Southern Military Zone thwarted an attempt to
smuggle a large quantity of narcotics using two drones along one of
its border fronts early Friday.
Border Guard units detected the two unmanned aerial vehicles
operating within the zone’s area of responsibility and engaged them
in accordance with the rules of engagement. The drones were
successfully brought down, along with their payloads, inside
Jordanian territory.
The operation was carried out in coordination with the security and
military agencies and the Anti-Narcotics Department. The seized
narcotics were transferred to the relevant authorities for legal
action.
The JAF affirmed that all infiltration and smuggling attempts are
dealt with through a high state of readiness and discipline,
reflecting the efficiency and professionalism of the forces deployed
along the Kingdom’s border frontiers.
