Minister Meets his Counterpart in Botswana
Gaborone,
16 Sep 2026 (ONA) — Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, Foreign Minister, met
with Dr. Phenyo Butale, Minister of International Relations of the Republic of
Botswana.
The
meeting took place within the framework of the state visit paid by His Majesty
Sultan Haitham bin Tarik to Botswana.
The
two ministers explored ways to enhance bilateral relations, build upon
existing cooperation, and leverage the momentum generated by His Majesty’s
visit to develop mutual interests and expand economic partnership, particularly
in the fields of investment, energy and mining. This, in turn, will support
the development priorities in the two countries.
The
meeting also underscored the continuation of coordination and follow-up between
relevant entities and exchanging visits between officials to transform
cooperation opportunities into mutual benefits. On the political front, the two
ministers touched upon a spectrum of regional and international issues of common
concern.
