Amman, July 11 (Petra) – The 20th Parliament is scheduled to convene
its 1st Extraordinary Session on Sunday, as the its first since its
election.
A Royal Decree was issued on June 28, 2026, summoning the Parliament
to convene in an extraordinary session, commencing on Sunday, July
12, 2026.
The Royal Decree included six draft laws: Draft Local Administration
Law of 2026 Draft Amended Jordanian Universities Law of 2026 Draft
Amended Real Estate Ownership Law of 2026 Draft Law to Repeal the
Civil Consumer Corporation Law of 2026 Draft Professional Work
Regulation Law of 2026 Draft Accreditation and Quality Assurance
Commission Law of 2026.
As a first step, Lower House of Representatives will begin debating
these bills, in accordance with constitutional procedures, in
preparation for their approval and referral to complete the
legislative process.
