Sudan Reaffirms Full Support for Saudi Arabia’s Right to Protect Its Ports and National Security

KHARTOUM, July 21, 2026 (SUNA) – Sudan reaffirmed its full support for Saudi Arabia and its right to take all necessary security measures to ensure the safe operation of its ports and safeguard its national security. In a statement issued Tuesday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation expressed deep concern over statements by the Houthi militia threatening to impose a naval blockade on Saudi ports, warning that such actions pose a direct threat to Red Sea navigation and undermine the security and economic interests of littoral states. The ministry said the militia’s actions would jeopardize security and stability in the Gulf and Red Sea regions, with serious implications for regional security as a whole. Sudan called on the Houthi militia to refrain from taking any hostile action against Saudi ports or any other ports in the Red Sea, while urging the regional and international communities to intensify pressure and take stronger measures to combat the activities of terrorist militias and eliminate the threats they pose.BH/BH
