Amman, July 23 (Petra)– Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Maj.
Gen. Yousef Ahmad Al-Hunaiti visited Arlington National Cemetery on
Wednesday during his official visit to the United States, where he
laid a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in honor of military
personnel who lost their lives in wars and while serving their
country.

The wreath-laying ceremony was conducted in accordance with military
protocol. Maj. Gen. Al-Hunaiti rendered a military salute at the tomb
as the military farewell bugle was played, while attendees observed a
moment of silence in tribute to the sacrifices of fallen service
members.

During the visit, Al-Hunaiti was briefed on the historical and
military significance of Arlington National Cemetery and its symbolic
role in commemorating members of the U.S. Armed Forces who died in
the line of duty.

The visit forms part of a series of meetings and official engagements
being held by the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff during his
visit to Washington, D.C., aimed at strengthening Jordanian-U.S.
military and defense cooperation and expanding coordination and the
exchange of expertise between the armed forces of the two friendly
countries.
