Jerash, July 26 (Petra) — The Artemis Stage at the ancient city of
Jerash hosted a poetry evening as part of the 40th Jerash Festival
for Culture and Arts, featuring a lineup of prominent Jordanian
poets.

The event was attended by Mohammad Bani Yassin, head of the Greater
Jerash Municipal Committee, and Yazan Al-Khudair, executive director
of the Jerash Festival.

Al-Khudair emphasized that the festival remains committed to
featuring poetry prominently in its cultural programming, reflecting
its place in Arab heritage and its role in expressing national and
human themes while providing a platform for creative literary
expression.

Ali Al-Hawamdeh, head of the local cultural committee, welcomed
attendees and participating poets, noting that the Jerash Festival
continues its mission of supporting the cultural movement, nurturing
creative talent, and reinforcing poetry as a core component of
national cultural identity.

The session was moderated by Maram Abu Al-Nadi, who introduced the
participating poets: Musa Al-Hawamdeh, Mohammad Al-Khudair, Harbi
Al-Masri, and Khaled Al-Qaisi. The poets recited a selection of
patriotic, emotional, and romantic verses before an engaged audience.

At the conclusion of the evening, Bani Yassin and Al-Hawamdeh honored
the participating poets in recognition of their literary
contributions. Bani Yassin was also presented with an honor in
appreciation of his support for the cultural and literary activities
hosted by the Jerash Festival.
